Data processing agreement
Last updated 13 October 2026
This agreement is part of our Terms. It covers the personal data of your website’s visitors that Knosite processes for you. You (the customer) decide why and how that data is used; Knosite (Parikshith, a sole proprietor based in Bengaluru, India, trading as Knosite) processes it on your behalf. It applies automatically while you use Knosite.
What we process
- Whose data: visitors who use the assistant on your website, and people whose details you add.
- What data: their messages and the assistant’s replies, contact details they give (such as email and name), survey answers, and, if you use lead features, the pages viewed and actions on your website, what they need and how ready they look to buy.
- Why: to answer visitors from your content, deliver leads, alerts and webhooks to you, and show you insights. Nothing else.
- How long: as set out on our privacy page and by your settings, until you delete it, or until your account closes.
Our commitments
- We process visitors’ data only on your instructions: your settings and use of Knosite, and anything else you ask in writing.
- We don’t sell it, and we don’t use it to train AI models.
- Only people who need to run or support the service can access it, and they keep it confidential.
- We protect it with measures suited to the risk, including HTTPS for all traffic, access control by workspace and role, origin allow-lists for the widget, and bot checks.
- We use the sub-processors listed here, each bound to protect the data, and we’ll email account owners before adding or replacing one that handles visitors’ data.
- We help you answer people’s requests. Your dashboard lets you give someone a copy of their data, stop profiling them, and delete everything held for an email address.
- If we become aware of a breach affecting your visitors’ data, we’ll tell you without undue delay, with what we know, so you can meet your own obligations.
- When your account closes we delete your visitors’ data within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep.
- We’ll give you the information you reasonably need to show you’re meeting your obligations.
Your part
- Have a lawful basis for using Knosite on your website, and tell your visitors in your privacy notice.
- Set Knosite’s visitor consent setting to match where your visitors are, and connect your cookie banner where consent is needed.
- Don’t use lead features on pages that would reveal sensitive information about visitors, or on websites aimed at children.
